Another New Year, Another Resolution

December 26th, 2011 Leave a comment Go to comments

We’re just a few days away from New Year’s Eve.  A few friends, a few drinks, a few good stories of days gone by.  And then we’ll eventually drift off to dreamland, waking soon for our first day of 2012.

The past few years have been dramatic ones, with events seemingly more intense, more significant, than I can remember in a very long time.  Wars, earthquakes, financial crises, flu threats, tsunamis, revolutions, volcanoes, oil spills; the list of bad news, both natural and man-made, seems to go on and on.

And yet despite this, or perhaps to spite it, I know I’ll keep on moving, just as long as there is breath in my lungs to do so.  I’m still amazed, almost every day, by the wonderful world around me.  The times with family and friends become more precious, not less.  I appreciate ability to choose where I spend my time, and where I don’t, more every day.

And so my resolution this year, for 2012, is to cut back; slow down; focus on what I’m thankful for.  I plan to do this in greater detail than ever before.  And I’ll do it in single-step, just like I have every year since I created the product back in 2004.  I now have 20 major goals listed in my Completed Goals section.  Everything from a new home, to running a marathon, to creating an iPhone application, to healing my injured back.

It’s been a great seven years, and I’m hoping for more of the same.  Only slower, with more attention to the little things.

I wish you and your families all the best in 2012.
