So, it seems that this blog has been getting a lot of hits by people searching for the number of minutes in a day.  For the benefit of those users, here is the answer:

number of minutes in a day = 60 (minutes per hour) * 24 (hours) = 1440 minutes

Also, for the sake of completeness:

number of seconds in a day = 60 (seconds per minute) * 60 (minutes per hour) * 24 (hours) = 86400 seconds
